In short: review tools you've really used, be specific and fair, disclose any vendor connection, and never include client data. Every review is moderated before it goes live.
1. Write from first-hand use
- Review software you or your firm have actually used. Say roughly how long, and for what kind of work.
- Be specific: which workflows got easier or harder, how support responded, whether the pricing felt fair for your firm size.
- Balance helps other CAs. Mention what works as well as what doesn't.
- One review per product. You can edit it while it is still pending.
2. Disclose any connection
If you work for, partner with, resell, or were paid or given anything by a vendor, whether for the product you are reviewing or a competitor, say so in your review. Undisclosed vendor reviews are declined, and repeated attempts lead to suspension.
3. Keep client data out
Never include client names, financial figures, PAN, GSTIN, screenshots with client data, or anything covered by your professional duty of confidentiality. Also leave out personal phone numbers and email addresses, including your own.
4. Be fair and civil
Criticise the product, not people. No abuse, threats or accusations you can't support. Disagreements with a vendor are fine to describe; allegations of fraud or illegality are not something we can publish.
5. Why a review or post may be declined
Every review, question and reply is checked by a moderator before it appears. The most common reasons for declining are:
- Not about using the product: general opinions, pre-sales impressions or questions posted as reviews.
- Promotional or undisclosed vendor content: marketing copy, affiliate links, or a vendor connection that wasn't disclosed.
- Personal details or abuse: client data, contact details, or abusive language.
- Duplicate: the same text posted more than once or across products.
- Too short to be useful: not enough detail for another CA to learn from.
Posts with several links are flagged automatically for a closer look.
6. After you submit
You can see the status of everything you've submitted on your account page, and we email you when a question or reply is approved or declined, with the reason. If you think a decision was wrong, or you want to report a published review, email startupatoms@gmail.com with the link. These guidelines are part of our Terms of Use.
